Students and writing: survey for instructors at UT

This survey was prepared for the lecturers at the University of Tartu. The purpose of this survey is to identify what kind of texts university students are given to write, how they are supervised, what difficulties students face, and what support they might require.

A similar survey will be conducted among the students. The results of the survey will be used to examine students’ writing skills and create writing resources.

The surveys are conducted by the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics under the project Process Writing in High School and University: Evidence-Based Knowledge and Practices. The data collected by the survey is anonymous.

The following survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. It is recommended to fill out this survey on a computer, not a mobile device as a small screen may not display all the possible answers. At the end of the questionnaire, you can find a link to our web-based writing resource (in Estonian). The results of this survey will be used to update the writing resource.

For more information about the survey, message Djuddah Leijen at djuddah.leijen@ut.ee.

This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
